Tonight, the AFL (NSW/ACT) Commission will launch a new training facility in Granville for Sydney?s best young AFL players.

The oval and clubrooms at Everley Park, Boundary St, Granville will become the new home for the Sydney based RAMS training squad which includes boys aged 13-18 years.

It will be the first season that the RAMS players have trained on an oval in Sydney with permanent AFL goal posts, which will allow them to practice their goal kicking during the week.

The Sydney RAMS squad trains twice a week in preparation for their busy match schedule which includes the AFL National U18 and U16 Championships and interstate matches such as the match against South Australia in Adelaide this Sunday.

The RAMS are part of the AFL Talented Player Pathway which guides talented young athletes from junior AFL club football all the way through the State representation as under 18 year olds ? and ultimately to be drafted by an AFL club.
