This is playing records against other clubs, and how we have gone in our last 10 matches.

Adelaide - WLLLLWLWWLL
4 W - 6 L (fairly even)

Brisbane (LIONS) - LWWLLLLLL
Shocking record against the Lions.
2 W - 7 L

Carlton - WWWLLWLWWW
Excellent record against Carlton
7 W - 3 L

Collingwood - WWWWWWLWWL
Fantastic Record against Collingwood
8 W - 2 L

Essendon - WWLLLLLLLL
We have lost our last 8 against Essendon. SHOCKING record.
2 W - 8 L

Fremantle - LLLLWWWLWW
Not a bad record considering the way we started against them (losing our first 5) We have only played them 11 times all up anyway
5 W - 5 L

Geelong - WLLWWWLLLL
Not a great record against Geelong. Especially in recent times.
4 W - 6 L

Hawthorn - WLWWWLWWLL
Certainly not the worst record.
6 W - 4 L

Kangaroos - WLWLLWWWWW
Brilliant record, and one of my favourites :D
7 W - 3 L

Melbourne - WLLWWLLLWW
Fairly even record.
5 W - 5 L

Port Adelaide - WWWLLWWL
Only played them 8 times. Decent record.
5 W - 3 L

Richmond - WWWLWLWLLW
Up and down record, but one we are still in front in.
6 W - 4 L

St Kilda - LLWWWWLWDW
Pretty good record for us. Only a few losses, only one recent.
6 W - 1 D - 3 L

West Coast - LWWWLWWWWL
Very good record against the Eagles
7 W - 3 L

Western Bulldogs - WLWLWLLLLL
Not a very flattering record against the Dogs at all. Disappointing.
3 W - 7 L

So all in all we are ahead in 8 of the battles, with 2 of them dead even.

Also, we have yet to lose against Adelaide since Carey has been with them :D :D :D

Actually, those stats are interesting.
Obvious teams we need to work on, and other teams we need to keep up the good record against....

Very interesting Mase - and IMHO they aren't meaningless, because it gives an insight into teams where in recent times we've either struggled with their style of play, struggled to match up against or underperformed against.

Brisbane and Essendon are sort of understandable, considering they have been far and away the two most dominant sides in recent years. The Bulldogs is a worry, they seem to have our measure, although they have been slipping further and further down the ladder since 1998. No real explanantion for why, other than perhaps the fact that all three teams have very strong midfields which have exposed a general lack of pace and skill level.

The St Kilda record is so-so, and the Geelong situation is definitely a problem. So these are all matches to keep an eye on.

I wonder if it's because the Bulldogs often expose us to a lot of pressure and we can fold at times in that case. Also, when we have managed to get in front against them we have relaxed, which is very dangerous against a never-day-die team the the Bullies.

Couldn't have been anything to do with a bloke called Wallace, could it?

Nah . . . silly of me to mention it.

The closest we've been to Essendon lately was when half the senior players pulled out during the week...

This may be true Donners, however on the last 2 occasions that we played Essendon the Bombers were hardly at full strength either. Both times we had a big chance to put them away but couldn't. Maybe this year.

Based on the luck they've had the last two times, we're LONG overdue to give the Bombers a thrashing - now there's something I'd like to see! Anyway, they deserve it.

i think if the bombers had a full strength side when we have met them on the last 3 occasions we would have given them a better run, as the swans always seem to get so complaicent when playing an injury-riddled team or a team lower than us on the ladder... its so shocking how consistent it is

Sad but true...how often do we challenge the league leaders, yet fold against the injured and lame. Too many sympathetic players maybe, but I think it is to do with our defecive mindset that frustrates the top teams...yet plays into the hands of the weak.
