However, Hooper has stunned the club by not attending training since a pre-season camp ended on January 13.

Another young tool wastes a chance at the top level of his sport. That's great that you realize you don't care but you wasted a spot on the list that some other kid would have really appreciated. Tool.

Good to see that you relentless newshounds have made a superhuman effort to get the complete picture without relying on perceptions or speculation.

Sometimes there is more to the story.

For example:

The Eagles also rubbished a television report yesterday suggesting Chad Fletcher battled for his life during an end-of-season trip to America, saying he simply had an allergic reaction to an injection for yellow fever. Fletcher spent four days in hospital but denied reports that he choked on his own vomit and that his life was in danger. "I didn't nearly lose my life. I was sick and lost some weight, but that was it," he said.

[Lions chief executive Michael Bowers] said he would begin talks with the AFL in a bid to place Hooper on the long term injured list, allowing a player to be promoted from their rookie ranks.

"We hope it doesn't come to that but you need to look at all those issues so we are doing that," he said of putting Hooper on the long term injured list.

"We don't know the answer yet but we will find out from the AFL.

"We are not sure of a precedent.

"Rhan has an opportunity and if he is not grabbing that we want to make sure someone else does.

"It doesn't make sense to the average bloke on the street that a spot is taken up by someone who doesn't want to grab it.

"We've got plenty of really good rookies who would jump at the chance to play football."

Bowers said the club would keep in constant contact with Hooper as he worked through his "motivational issues".
