Bombers have a decent win against a well under strrength, struggling Lions team and if the Roos win today still 6 points out of the eight, but in the media they are suddenly back in the race for the flag. What nonsense they vomit forth sometimes.

You might add Colliwobles and Kangas to this list as well. They're pathetic aren't they? Clinging to the only hope they have against the non-victorian teams. The way Melbourne media is carying on it sounds like those teams were sent by higher powers to save Victoria's pride.

Geelong would have been the next Victorian hope if they'd gotten over the WB's today. Richmond'll be back in contention next. After today's performance, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Kangaroos are just making up the numbers.

Well Essendon may be a "roughie" , but your point is well made.
The Herald Sun story after the Pies win last weekend was something like "So much for the interstaters dominating the eight".
Collingwood are a threat , but the tone was unjustifiably derisory to the non-Vic teams in the eight.
It might take an all-interstate GF to get the Melboune media to understand this is a national game.
