What are our options in Magic doesnt get up:

1) Simply replace Magic with O'Keefe and keep it similar.

2) Have Doyle replace Magic. Can he play a full game at FF?

3) Move Barry Hall back to FF and play Stevens at CHF.

4) Play Goodes permanently at FF, and have Doyle, LRT or Meklejohn ruck all day.

According to todays Herald Sun, Mathew Nicks is a big chance to fill in for O'loughlin. That would be the biggest case ever of going from chocolates to boiled lollies. I would rather have Stevens play than Nicks, or maybe we could even give Frosty a go, after all he was named as one of the reserves best. :D

Bring O'Keefe in for Mick.

Nicks and Snapper to warm the bench.

Ruck combo of Goodes, Doyle & LRT.

Play a 5 man forward line and have an extra man in defence.

Doyle and O'Keefe in the Forward Line

Schneider, Hall and Davis on the Half Forward line.

For some reason I like this idea. I haven't worked it out yet.

On the flipside:

We do need the numbers up forward to negate their great running game off half-back, Wanganeen, Montgomery etc. I think we will need a Ben Matthews to come back similar to the job he did on Rohan Smith.

No let Goodes play him normal role in the ruck and resting forward. I would bring in Powell for Magic and use him and LRT as the floating defender.

Maybe you are right come to think of it. So who did Ben do a second half tagging job on about 2 months ago?

They could use Seymour more in the forward line he was a good target whil he was in the forward line on Sat.

why thank you kind sir, though I can not take all of the credit.

I went to the Swans site and looked up Ben's profile and sure enough, there was an item about it there. :)

Wasn't it B2? I remember thinking he'd just shown how versatile he was, not only able to play "tall" in defence but also a more midfield, roaming type defensive role.

Or then again, maybe B2 played on Johnson.

I'm confused. Ben Matthews succeeding in a tagging role!!!!

That must have been the game Mercuri played in a wheel chair.

Lizz,

it was Pebbles, I've always rated Smith as a good player for the Dogs and was interested in who'd pick him up. And when it was my boy, I was certainly paying a fair of attention as to how he'd go. And you were correct it was B2 on Johno.

Penga my friend, at least I was honest enough to admit it wasn't from memory. I didn't see your post otherwise I would have confirmed it and not tried to take all the glory myself:D ;)

I reckon Nicks should replace Mickey. Either way though, he is back in the team for sure i reckon, we need the experience. We needs Goodes playing his usual role around the ground because he can be so damaging.

Should we bring in another midfielder with not much field experience?
