Does anyone recall the statements from Roos when Hall left? I'm interested in how final they were.

While I'm not saying it's likely I wonder if we could see Barry have a chat to Roos, assure him that all this time out of the game has made him see the error of the ways, that he can guarantee no repeats and that he is 100% committed. He's stilll on our books so that would be easier than a trade to the Doggies and would mean no relocation back to Melbourne for him.

From memory I think Roos said something in the press suggesting they were catching up some time soon.....

But, I think that door is well and truly shut, and even though I hated the way he 'went' and was let down by the Swans over the way they handled it, I think it's better to stick with the decision that the club (rightly or wrongly) made.

Is there really room for Hall AND White in the forwardline? The Lockett / Hall experiment didn't work very well. And if Hall and White were there, how could Jolly drop back there to contribute a couple of goals? That'd be 3 very tall talls. Much as I like Hall (when he behaves) he can't have more than a season or two in him. Jesse must be nurtured into a potentially formidable tall foward ala Paul Salmon. Not since the Wiz have we grown our all specialist full forward (Minten-Connell, Cordiner, Love, Plugga, Hall were all imports).

That's how I remember it. Big on emotion-small on productivity. Nobody seemed to know who to kick to in the Fwd line.

IIRC Salmon was a forward who played in the ruck later in his career. He was well on the way to kicking a ton when he did his knee, it was after this that he played more in the ruck.

Two seasons at FF. Then rotated b/w FF and ruck (which he favored). Just saying ;)

I always liked him playing on the wing and a CHF rather than FF. His delivery into the forward line is one of the best I have ever seen. I would not want to mess with the newly found synergy we have going. I suspect the coaching staff wont either. Does anybody really think we are going to be a major threat in the next year or two ? The last month has been terrific but lets not get ahead of ourselves. A week is a long time in footy. A couple of months an eternity. Sure he misses the game and still thinks he has a lot to give blah blah blah. We have seen too much from the youngsters to want him back. I still miss the big guy though.

Yes, and with Johnston as the third tall. Plus Veszpremi and perhaps Laidlaw in the mix.

Hall must feel like a Dill sitting out these last 6 games for what was a relatively minor but final straw indescretion. He should still be there, but in their wisdom they gave him the tap, and there is no way he will be coming back.
