For full article click here (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,8859586%255E11088,00.html) but the gist of the story is that the AFL plan's to present all clubs that won premierships prior to 1959 (when the premiership cup was first presented) a replica cup for that year, so we are in line for at least 1 cup, but we could get one each for 1909, 1918 and 1933. At this stage the plan is to give them out to clubs during the Hertiage Round which this season for us is Round 18 against Brisbane.

The part of the article that concerns us is as follows "In a huge boost for Sydney, the club will be presented with at least one cup to commemorate South Melbourne's 1909, 1918 and 1933 premierships.

Like the Bulldogs, the Swans have nothing but dusty old flags to show for their Grand Final glory."

Nice idea but I want all 3 not just 1. Also we in fact don't have any old flags or the like because most of it was stolen in 1982 by Swans fans not wanting our "stuff" in Sydney. The AFL only gave us replicas of the 3 flags we won, plus of course we have the 1982 Night Premiership Cup in our keeping.

Agree.
Don't care much for past glories. Its lifetime premierships the ones that happen in my lifetime, that matter to me.

I agree lets go for the real thing the Premiership Cup in 2004. Why not use the cup they will give us, from previous premierships, as an incentive to get the real thing.
