Forecasts suggest more ground closures for this weekend.

More closures there were, and we've got a serious backlog of games in some divisions. There's some teams that have only stepped on the field once all season, and Western Wolves in the womens comp haven't had a game at all yet.

This week's RWO Wrap of the weekend action (http://www.redandwhiteonline.com/forum/showthread.php/39969-Sydney-AFL-Round-4-2015) is now online.

Mega gazzillions of dollars spent on Gipps Road to make it the showpiece of community footy in Sydney. The signage out the front sings the praises of the AFL and local authorities working in harmony, blah, blah, blah....but it seems to always be the first to be closed when there is a puffy grey cloud on the horizon.
Olds Park (which is Council owned and controlled) seems to be able to be used most weekends, and that's a cow paddock at the best of times.

What's going on there ??

Meanwhile, Blacktown Council took a giant crap on the game and about 100 people present at the ground by closing BISP No 2 yesterday just after the scheduled starting time of the of the Womens' Div 2 game between Penrith and Auburn - when everyone was ready to start the game.

The game in Sydney is still truly living in prehistoric times.

Olds is one of the most frequesntly used grounds in Sydney, with the Penshurst juniors training and playing there, as well as being a suburban cricket facility ... in the drought periods we had in recent years, it would often turn into a dust bowl, and any rain it would turn to mud!

They spent money on drainage 2 (?) years ago, and it would be one of the best wet weather grounds in Sydney now (even with the rotten synthetic cricket pitch).

Even with intermittent rain squalls on Saturday, you couldn't find a wet/muddy spot on the ground - could easily have played a game there any time in the past weeks as well.

Any club/council considering spending the bucks, consult with the Hurstville Council - they have done it right!
