swans 5.2 ,9.4 ,12.5 , 14.7 (91)

melb 3.3 ,6.3 , 6.6 ,8.8 (56)

sounds like we had control of the game the whole time and only 2.5 kicked against us after 1/2 time.
davis kicked 1 goal after starting on the bench and no hall or mick O playing. not bad.

Better practice result than last week, that's for sure. Schneider sounds impressive. What's the story with this guy? Is he likely to get much game time this season? I was glad to see Nicks' name in the results (Bolton's too). Two blokes who really need to put in imo.

We dominated the game throughout. The most pleasing features.

The return of Jason Ball- played less than a half game but did not break down and took some telling marks in the last quarter when stationed in the back pocket.
Nick Davis did a few good things in general play and marked well and converted a nice goal . He is a good acquision.
Nicksy really returned to form and kicked a few goals early in the game. Tadhg also did some good work after a few ordinary performances
Stevens and Goodes both starred in an even team display . Stevens copped a very hard knock in the last quarter and came off but seemed OK.
Saddo played and came through unscathed but needs a few more matches to hit form.
Only a few newish youngsters were used and Powell and Schneider continue to impress . Powell has a lot of guts for one so skinny and good hands overhead while Schneider was very elusive and kicked a great goal near the end of the game.
Crouch tightened things up and made the opposition more accountable. Jude threw his body into the play and went OK.

IN SUMMARY: A GOOD ALL ROUND EFFORT.

Glad to hear Ball seemed well. Any word on Schauble's FB efforts today? Did Bolton C play?

Schaubs was caught out a few times and was moved to the forward line. Craig Bolton started up forward and got an early goal and later moved to the backline. He came off early and it appeared he was given a precautionary rest after missing recently through injury.
IMO we lack height in the backline and it will be interesting to see if Ball gets a role there as a sweeper or in a back pocket.

Schneider - I like the cut of his Jib, to quote Mr Burns.

Thanks for the update Swansbest.

Other than Powell did any of the other younger guys go OK?

The other youngsers did not spend much time on the paddock. Luke Ablett battled hard without starring. The older established players were given a good run particularly those coming back from injury and who lacked match practice.
Schneider is small but he is certainly does not lack confidence and sometimes seems even arrogant . IMO he has what it takes and reminds me of midgets like Geogie Bissett ex Footscray and Collingwood and also Ray Jordan ex VFA star .

Yeh really good performance compared to last week.
Theres that man again S.Stevens!
Goodes another blinder!
Davis , Ball successful comebacks!

I think people forget that when our full side is in, and it is still not full and match ready we will be a competitive side, a slight glimpse today, but we are only at about 65-70% ready atm imo.
Good signs!
