What a Premier Division debut for Camden! A big first-up win for the Cats. Sydney Uni get some revenge over Pennant Hills, while UTS hold out UNSW-ES in a thriller. North Shore way too good for Manly, while East Coast took the points against St George.
And plenty of interesting results throughout the league.
What were your thoughts? Who impressed and who didn't?

What's happened to St George? East Coast ressies up from div 2 should have been an easy kill. Comfortably beaten in both grades.
The new structure hasn't fixed the blow outs, but you'd imagine it was a slight improvement for teams traveling in their Seniors and Reserves.

Not sure but as the old story goes people in glass houses... few were happy to throw a barb and now coming back to bite.

I think the original 5 year plan amended to a 10 year plan.

I think only about 5 from the gf winning side played round 1. Prems were winning at 1/4 time when I left.

Good win for us in div 2 with only 19. Down to 16 for the last quarter v 18.

Wests forfeit in div 2?

How good is footy!!

Great result for Camden. I know you cant read too much into pre-season form, but leading into rd1 Wests beat St George, St George beat Manly. Camden now getting over Wests suggests they might go alright

Bad signs for West though. 104 pt loss in Ressies and 3s forfeit. Surprised by the St George results too, especially reserves.

Watched the North Shore Manly game yesterday. Dont think Manly have too many to come back, so looks like theyre in a bit of trouble too. Without Connor Petterson theyd have lost that game by 150 pts.

Some big games next week!!

very unfortunate for wests, their thirds win a premiership last year (with a bit of help) and now they cant even field a team?

Wests had a fair few outs which affected all grades, culminating in the thirds having to forfeit. Not an ideal start to the season but expect a better showing this week.

Good atmosphere down at Camden and a well deserved result for them. Lots of good friendly banter.

Def down numbers in Div 2 on a hot day, from memory no bench in first qtr and some turned up just before half time and backed up and played reserves as well a few of them. Numbers of St George was def surprising considering the recent seasons when it all seemed very solid and people were missing games
