From today's Age - http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/articles/2003/03/11/1047144971498.html - talking about the Wizard Cup Final.

I find it amusing how Eddie has come up with the grand idea for where the Wizard Cup Final will be played each year:

"Maybe the AFL need to do it like the Super Bowl and declare in a particular year if it's a non-Victorian team, they get first go at it, and for the next three years if there's a Victorian team involved, it will be played here."

Don't you just love the way for 1 year non-Vic teams have a chance to host it, yet for the next 3 Vic teams do. Yet, there are more than one quarter of the teams in the competition from outside Victoria, and if they follow this year's method for determining the draw of having the non-Vic teams play each other in the first round and then the second round too (as per WCE v Adel), at least one Vic team will be in the semis, and often more, making the chances of having a Vic team in the final quite strong.

Wake up Eddie, its the AFL, and has been for well over 10 years now. The only VFL left is the reserves comp, so go back and run for president of the Bendigo Diggers*

No offence meant to any Bendigo residents, supporters, officials etc, its just that Bendigo were the first VFL team not affiliated with an AFL team I could think of.

The only ones left not affiliated are North Ballarat, Frangers and Tasmania.

And the only stand alone ressies team is Geelong.

The Diggers are now the Bendigo Bombers.

Preston are aligned with Carlton as of this year.
