Okay, so after watching the game I have decided this is what happened.

Maxfield went down to Melbourne but wasn't going to play, McVeigh was always going to play. Roosy was playing mind games back at Sheeds. Ablett actually did become ill so it was actually Stu stepping in to play for him from the emergencies, not McVeigh.

our theory is Jared McVeigh wasn't too be played against Mark McVeigh. When they were certain Mark wasn't playing Jared back into the team for Ablett.

But then there were lots of whispers about Stuie not playing.
