The Advertiser was right. LRT out for Spriggs.

Foreign Legion
17th April 2005, 02:07 PM
LRT out - wonder why James/Powell weren't considered - a tall for a tall.

punter257
17th April 2005, 02:10 PM
spriggs will probably run with goodwin or edwards and crows dont really have any big power talls that we couldnt manage anyways, i see your point though

punter257

Foreign Legion

Well done M.O'L - we've missed you

Foreign Legion
17th April 2005, 02:46 PM
Not a bad 1/4 really - gotta watch that set play at their kickins - ball was in the centre very quickly then the goal.

Davis looks like he is really trying - hope he keeps it up.

21 seconds. That's how long that Adelaide goal a couple of minutes before quarter time took. That's how games of football are won.

Having said that, today looks much more like the second half against Brisbane than the first. Good to see.

midaro
17th April 2005, 02:47 PM
Skills are very ordinary for both teams.

Spriggs is doing something.

Hall was frustrated with the delivery though.

punter257
17th April 2005, 02:49 PM
yeah good to see some relatively attacking footy, i just hope ROK can can into the game and get some form

Free kicks near goal seem easy to get....

Willo gone and pressure on now. Dempster showing a bit.

midaro
17th April 2005, 03:00 PM
2 dodgy frees. :(
Spriggs tackle wasn't high - Adelaide gets a goal.
Goodes attack on the ball was fine - Costs us a goal + Adelaide get a goal from the turn over.

punter257
17th April 2005, 03:02 PM
good onya ablett, we needed that badly
yeah i agree about dempster, looks great

Can I get this game via radio on the net? I thought MMM were supposed to be broadcasting all Sydney games?

This is the one and only thing I hate about living over west :(

No bloody swans coverage live!

O'Keefe has 66 minutes to do something or he'll be playing in Canberra next week.

Punter, you're a legend.

Tooth Fairy
17th April 2005, 03:18 PM
why does roos persist with Hall rucking in front of goals? I'd much rather see him roving and breaking up the lines with his muscle. Heaven forbid he may snag the ball and create a goal

midaro
17th April 2005, 03:19 PM
For those who are interested, Williams is looking at "2 weeks to 2 months". Assuming it's a separated shoulder.

Yep, he came good just before 1/2 time - hasn't played well this year.

Jeeez Dempster is a nice kick and very balanced for a big bloke.

Spriggs was Ok that quarter too.

ROK Lobster
17th April 2005, 03:24 PM
Dempster looking good.

Hall's form is questionable. Here's hoping he gets his hands on it a bit more in the 2nd half.

When was the last time a 2nd gamer was allowed to take a kick-in?

He moves like a 200 gamer, and he's just about the best long kick in the game. How did it take 50 games for him to make his debut?

midaro
17th April 2005, 03:31 PM
Fixter (2002) -> Schneider (2003) -> Bevan (2004) -> Dempster (2005)?

What does it mean that 2 of them aren't in the team today, and another is on the cusp?

timtayla
17th April 2005, 03:31 PM
just heard that the reserves won with over 200 points

also dempster sounds like a very good plaryer i won't see the game on tv due to being in w.a

I saw a first gamer take a couple last week ;) .

I am now wondering how McVeigh and Fosdike went in the 2's this morning...

midaro
17th April 2005, 03:47 PM
How can they pay advantage like that when everyone has stopped? That's twice. :(

we are terrible clearing out of defence, i suppose u've gotta give the crows credit 4 that, hope we can sort it out!

Inside Football called them Jekyll and Hyde team of the AFL. It looks to me they're right. You really don't know what to expect when they play next time.

If Sydney doesn't slot the newxt two goals, the last quarter will be very interesting. Adelaide is not Brisbane and they won't allow ths one to slip away.

Can we nominate MOL as a designated kicker?

kenswan
17th April 2005, 04:11 PM
What is wrong with their goal kicking? Had a chance to go into the last quarter ahead even though they were beaten for most of the quarter.

NMWBloods
17th April 2005, 04:13 PM
That quarter was one of the worst skills displays I can recall in a long time. Absolutely terrible.

We really should run over the top of them in the last quarter, but we'll need to play at least half decent football!

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:13 PM
As soon as we start to win a little ball from clearances and out of the center, we look a whole lot better - this is going to decide the game.

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:19 PM
Where was the spoil attempt!

Goal to Perry.

midaro
17th April 2005, 04:21 PM
We're really missing LRT's height. ;)

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:22 PM
Our skills are just awful - this game is very close to being over.

Another goal to Perry.

Has Leo Barry taken some stupid pills. To be fair he is not the only one.

If I wasn't already over this I would have been upset with that Hall free kick. :)

SXP
17th April 2005, 04:25 PM
Yep, we're gone. Our midfield stinks. Even Roos was saying that the game will be won in the midfiled an dhe's right. Adelaide has got better midfield than us.

Fair enough, but the basic skill errors would have been the difference in this one.

NMWBloods

There's time and the commentators keep talking about last week and our comeback, however they don't seem to appreciate that last week we had Williams and he is our only quality midfielder.

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:28 PM
We have not improved an ounce on last year - one good quarter against the Lions.

17th April 2005, 04:29 PM

Adelaide getting alot of help from umpires - another gift goal.

Game over.

FootyontheBrain
17th April 2005, 04:43 PM
At this level how do you vercome the skill errors we've had this week, and seemingly the last two prior. We've still only had one GOOD quarter from the last 3 rounds.

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:46 PM
Now the far superior foot skills of the Crows showing on the scoredoard, 30 point lead now.

mpr104
17th April 2005, 04:49 PM
I think last weeks win was just an abberation - Brisbane showed they werent much chop yesteray against the Hawks.

I fear a big drop on the ladder this year - I just cant see anything positive from today's performance - nothing.

We are getting smashed now - 41 points!

Foreign Legion
17th April 2005, 04:53 PM
R O'K might have a run in the 2's next week.

2 injuries and a loss - couldn't be much worse.

They were also repeatedly able to clear it easily after a behind, we on the other hand tried to do eveyrthing in our power to give it up.

In 2003 whenever the ball came into our attacking 50 it only got back out under extreme duress. IMO that was one of the features of that year, the defensive work inside the attacking 50. Last year I thought it dropped off a lot. This year it seems to have vanished completely.

EDIT: the reason Ugg's post below is now nonsensical is because I mucked up and used the word 'defensive' when I meant 'attacking'. Sorry Ugg.

ugg
17th April 2005, 05:08 PM
That's because sides have worked out that the basis of our game plan revolves around our rebound. Plus, it doesn't help when Leo and Kennelly are forced to cover key forwards. I hope Schauble comes back soon.

FootyontheBrain
17th April 2005, 05:15 PM
With Ball going down with a hamstring, and Doyle a few weeks away is Goodes a chance to return to the Ruck?

Snowy
17th April 2005, 06:15 PM
Adelaide is underrated and not only are their skills good but they're hard at it, their tackling was far superior. Can't see why McVeigh doesn't get a run a good midfielder needs to be developed who is youthful. Spriggs is a fit trier but his disposal hurts. Think Crows had superior fitness as well though they did have a more flexible bench.

Wil
17th April 2005, 07:44 PM
Completely out-coached and out-skilled. Hard to see Roos still being around by seasons end. Surely they teach skills as well as fitness during swans training sessions?

Glenn
17th April 2005, 07:54 PM
What a totally inept display from so called professional footballers, absolutely shocking across the field..defence taking stupid riskes, to many handballs, players down field not giving any options, not hitting targets, not picking up your opponet etc I could be here all night on what went wrong.
There are some serious problems at the Swans, in some of the players attitudes.
The twits in yellow were on the take, but Sydney were down right abysmal

Thankfully didn't cost Sydney the game(Sydney did that), in a way rather appropriate with the inept play, the umps were inept as well

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FoxFooty NSW has just lost a viewer Friday nights. Why wait for 9.30pm when I can now watch the games at 8.30pm!!!!

WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOO

Watching on Cable - its FANTASTIC. Almost TV quality YAY!!!!!

shhhhh Don't tell anyone, we don't want to crash their server OR get them busted for re-broadcasting without permission outside the broadcast area. I'm sure its illegal. If it was legal, then why don't Fox just broadcast it themselves anywhere they like?

Knew I should've got a D1 instead of an IQ.
