I appreciate that nearly all on here love the Swans "Cheer, Cheer, the Red and the White" club song (as I do), but I was thinking today that it needs a slight word change.

In the second line "Honour the name by day and by night" what is the 'name' that is meant to be honoured - there is no mention of it in the first line - the club name is not Red and White? These words are presumably just left over from the words of the chorus in the original song "Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame, Wake up the echoes cheering her name."

Considering we do not mention the name at that point I would rather we sang "Honour the club by day and by night."

Any thoughts?

This morning we learned that the Lions' Rischitelli is off to the Gold Coast. And he may well win the Lions B&F tomorrow night. I think the Gold Coast can make a claim on any uncontracted player of any club?

Who falls into that category for us? Who is possible/likely to go? Or will we end up with the same secure list as now? ie do we have any glaring uncontracted talent right now?

We get a solid win against the Bloos and the Dogs look dispirited against the Pies. Sounds like the perfect chance to aim for a PF against the Saints. But, at the risk of channelling Roos, how many years do we go by the form in the first week of finals and decide that this will be the year of teams 5-8 only to watch it crash down in finals week 2?

Before the weekend I gave us a 40% chance against the Dogs if we beat the Blues. Now I'd say 50:50. How are you feeling about our chances this weekend?

The final score was 17.21 (123) to 10.12 (72).
