I was hoping they would tread on a cricket ball!!! McGrath is close to Macguire

Says Grant,
"They (Hamill and Koschitzke) won?t be playing this week and we decided to come out and let the throngs know early so we could get on with the job," ...
"(But) having said that in the next 48 hours if they make a remarkable recovery anything could happen."
Ah hah. Something we always expected.
So that clears it up then.
Hamill & Kosi will not play, and they are going into a Prelim with another 5 players either a little sore or under done from a lay off of some sort.
All the stars and planets are aligned for us, if we play to our ability we can knock them off.
Now just need to make sure the rain holds off on Friday night.......

I suspect the last comment was just made out of habit and would not read too much into it.Originally posted by Ryan Bomford

They have not played funny buggers re selections all year, so why start now.

Because it's a preliminary final. That's good enough reason IMO.Originally posted by DST

Yes that is, but listening to Grant Thomas on a number of occasions over the last two years it is not what he is about.Originally posted by Thunder Shaker

Grant has been at pains to mould a group of players that play as a disciplined team and not a collection of stars as that is what he bases his whole coaching phlosophy around. Maximum effort from the whole 22 players all the time.
Take it at face value when he says they won't play as he has such blinding faith in his game plan and full list that whatever 22 run out on Friday they will get the job done.
So no need for him to hide the fact someone is not playing to try and get an edge.

Over at Saitsational:
"#10 left track early - flexing hip joint/area (hard to describe) standing on one leg swinging other - was in some pain though.
Probably precaution though
Also did anyone else notice Luke Ball walk straight off with Cris Jones (fitness staff) when others signed autographs - luke looked a little distressed. Not meaning to cause alarm BUT did anyone else notice...
2 and 23 right for GF if make it
8, 18 and 31 no probs
