Yep. The not-quite-five-months that he's aged since he kicked 52 goals last year has made all the difference.

I agree and I think he played in a more spritely fashion towards the end of the year in 2005 than for quite a while beforehand.

yeh i agree with that, i reckon he could of won the norm smith if he had kicked more accurately, cos he was quite a dominant figure except i think it must of been nerves (well maybe something else was up- didnt he have concussion of something)
for his sake i hope he has a fantastic last few years with the bloods

    all the best micky

Not likely. Most of his stuffed up kicks were in the last twenty minutes... after the votes were cast. The judges have to give their votes early in the last quarter so that the medal can be presented straight after the game. Seems a little silly, but it possibly had something to do with Judd winning the NS last year.

hmm yeh it is a little silly but i suppose the medal should be given to a consistent performer on the day therefore micky wouldnt of had a chance, im still peeved judd got it but in the end who cares....WE GOT THE CUP!! & im sure he would give his norm smith medal back any day for a premiership medal

That was the case in previous years, but after Buckley got his Norm Smith (when Voss should have got it), my understanding was that they had changed the NS voting to after the match. I believe this was the case for 2005, although maybe I'm stark raving mad.
