    swans flag 5-year fortune

I just have to ask .. what the hell is a "butter step". As a euphemism it does nothing for me.

Good men do good deeds. Evil men do evil deeds. But it takes religion for a good man to do evil deeds.

I suspect he said "but a step" and the stenographer did the rest!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It's like all the footy players who are always getting "wrapped".

But then he says this... "but a butter step on the way to getting to where we want to get to."

And then I am confused. Maybe if you're stepping on butter, you tread carefully?

If you're treading on eggshells, and make a butter step, perhaps you will end up with some kind of premiership sponge cake somewhere along the line.

I think he makes more sense as a "better step" in both instances.

You could be right, there are a few strange things reportedly said in the interview, I suspect that is probably the reason why.

Or maybe "a bit of a step"?
