Monty deserved it for the sheer influence on the outcome of the 2005 Flag.

Judd was good, but his efforts were not good enough to get his team over the line.

Monty was good, his efforts did, including the clutch goal, several spoils, vital tackles and several inside 50s that were slaughtered by Mick.

Yep. Probably the best summary here.

    Fossie still gets my vote.

I voted Buchanan, but its wonderful to know that Fossie can really turn in top performances in the big games. He may not have completely lived up to his high draft pick potential, but it looks like he'll be very serviceable for us for many years.

I've come to like his game more and more, though earlier in his career I was calling for his head. He seems to be one of those quiet ones who no one really talks about on RWO, which is probably a good thing!

LRT still has more votes than Fossie - why on earth do fans of other teams still say Swans supporters are football ignorant?

Both major contributors. I gather that you consider the Norm Smith voting and expert opinion on the day was also by the football ignorant?

    Just a theory:
Fossie showed the workrate he is capable of & there's a level of disappointment that he doesn't do it more consistently from week to week. In other words, he played to a level we know he's capable of but rarely achieves.

LRT played a much greater hand than we expected (or could ever really have hoped for). He was rarely beaten in a contest & no major fups with his disposals & even created some movements rather than just reacted. In other words, he played well above himself (and above most expectations).

So overall, Fossie may have been a greater contributor - but the perception is LRT had the blinder.

I think this is exactly it. When you expect very little, if he does something, it is a big deal.

Yes, I think we need the Staker and also the Gardiner option in this poll
Looking out for good omens which can bring the Swans the 2007 premiership
