    Our dodgy home ground "advantage"

We haven't been playing well at home lately, and I'm wondering whether the terrible state of our home pitches has anything to do with it.

First it was our 2's not being able to play for 3 weeks, as a result of a washed out SCG.

Now it's our Telstra that's been stuffed for the Pies game.. in the article here ..

I just hope the fact that it will be Willo's LAST GAME AGAINST THE PIES that can carry our team through to another home game win.

First the SCG, whose dodgy conditions (reported on from games played there) were covered up by the fact that it rained, now THIS at Telstra...!!!!

How on earth can we win @ home when our grounds are all stuffed up and get the butt end of the deal?

NO WONDER WE CANT WIN AT HOME.

Perhaps you should ask Craigy-wagy or Ryany-wyony about the state of the track.
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

Sounds like they pulled the article out of the archives from the Geelong game earlier this year.

I wonder how this wet weather will affect the re-laying of the turf. Weather reports are saying it will rain until the weeekend.

They could always try AstroTurf as a substitute.

Which reminds me of the line attributed to recently deceased baseballer, Tug McGraw:

Q: What do you prefer, natural grass of AstroTurf?
McGraw: I dunno, I never smoked AstroTurf.

    Still one of my favourites

With everyone talking about the World Cup, they need something to write about and the Tesltra Stadium turf is as good as anything I suppose.

    Sheesh.

Last game was the absolutely worst condition. Even without the rain, it would've been pretty bad (as was reported on) and I'm guessing the "no-brains Trust" would've cancelled the Swans Reserves game again... it was ripping up really easily in patches around the Brewrongle end.

That Trust really shouldve at least cancelled the main break activities..

Yeah? Well you wouldn't be saying that if you knew about what they did during last year's Final against Geelong when they watered the ground and didn't tell us about it till last moment! Almost cost us the game!

LAY OFF BLOODSYO HE IS DOING THE BEST HE CAN!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
