    Fast & Furious Game Plan

The highlight of last night's game for me was the long stanza's of playing on quickly after marks and free kicks ( yeah we got a few apparently).

Fast breaking and hard running were rewarded. ROKs goals were a classic example.

Grundy knew no better that to just be goal hungry, same a Simon Phillips. With these young kids, they aren't over-engineered (yet), so they tend to play direct footy.

Phillips could have nearly been a star had he middled a couple more.

Take this game to Adelaide and Geelong and Melbourne for the rest of the year and yes we will give ourselves a chance finals time.

Malceski makes a big difference in this respect. Having someone who can size up the situation quickly and kick long to advantage can really cut the opposition up, especially with a forward line where all the components are pretty good marks for their height - even if their kicking sometimes leaves something to be desired!

Now I come to think of it, while Malceski is a stand-out, there are at least half a dozen, mostly youngish, players in the team who have genuinely penetrating kicks on them. And Laidlaw is another for the future. Hopefully we will see a long kicking game continue to evolve.

Love the long punt from Mal.

It's alike a chip kick, he doesn't seem to need any sort of huge wind up. Like Dustin Fletcher a bit.
