    Swans no injury secret revealed

may have missed if this has been posted before as I was in Sydney watching the game, so I got this off the eagles board.

    -----------------------------------------

I read it on saturday and was pleased/relieved to finally see that someone had done there job and found out how it was that sydney could have such a good run with injuries while other clubs struggled.

    Well this is why.

according to terry wallace, it also has alot to with our game style, that is the many stoppages result in less running and less muscle injuries

but now NMWBloods will lay off me when I say that our club has the best conditioning in the league thats why our injuries are low.

That was a good article. I like the reactions of the weagles fans. It was like they were denis connor's team after seeing the winged keel for the first time.

Conditioning still won't stop broken bones. Which was the point being made.

Shows how little Terry knows. Barry Hall would run more than pretty much any other forward of his size out there. And Goodes doesn't exactly sit around all day either.

Actually Plough (although not a personal favourite of mine) has only ever been complimentary of Sydney and that particular article was well researched and made a lot of sense.

Sydney do the majority of its work either in heavy congestion or clear space. That minimises impact injuries and that was the nature of his article. Who last took a speccy for the Swans or how many a year will the Swans team make.

As for the soft tissue stuff, hammies, calf, quad injuries etc, well that comes more down to science and knowing when players are at greater risk of that and using rest as a weapon. Great news that Goodesy has only been training at half the rate but performing better in the second half of the season.
