How many more years for Kirk

I reackon Kirk has 2, maybe 3 more years left in him.
His role as the premier tagger has almost gone. Judd tore him up in the last quarter against WC when he moved himself onto Judd.
So question marks about his ability to nullify the best.

As a midfielder, he doesnt have the skills to see out a long career.

I think as soon as his speed deserts him and he cant apply the tackles and pressure, it might be a speedy exit from the seniors.

Kirk has never had speed and Judd has never been the type of player he has successfully shut down on. Yes, he did put himself on Judd towards the end of the QF but that was only because nothing else was really working - Judd had torn everyone else up.

Also, his role hasn't been one of pure tagger for a couple of years. He frequently lets his opponent get possessions nowadays, but also often does better. Sometimes he's the one tagged himself.

Who knows how long he has to go. Certainly this year hasn't been close to as good as the last two. But I don't think anything you have noted is particularly relevant to how long he's likely to go on for.

Dont get me wrong. I think Kirk is doing enough at the moment to cement his place for another couple of years. A key to our team.

But his form 6 or 7 weeks ago was pretty ordinary, and I was thinking that was a vision of the future. He doesnt play a style of footy that has a long career attached to it.

Two years ago, Kirk would have shut down Judd to the same level as the first 3 quarters.

the only person I can think of that can seriously shut down Judd would have to be Crouch

but even he could never go with him for a full game

He played a dead set ripper tonight and was really good with Davis when Davis was on fire in that 3rd quarter burst.

That's a big call....because someone is playing well this year they will be in the team for two more years at least. What happened to taking it one week at a time?

Am I alone in thinking he put 2 OOF and missed his target with most kicks?

Who can run with Judd anyway? Pretty much no one.

plenty on tonight's effort alone. Still inspires the troops in the middle, and really let Davis know how much his goal meant at 3 qtr time.
