Boys looked switched on, the pressure is as good from last week. Good signs. On the down side, Fosdike butchered at least 4 kicks in that quarter.

    End of 1st

Whipping boys McVeigh, Bolton, Bevan - good enough so far.

Is Darren Jolley the most in-form ruckman in the comp?
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

Pity we let them in with a couple at the end and missed a couple we should have kicked ourselves. 7-1 would have been a more appropriate goal score for what was, overall, a good quarter by Sydney.

Jude Bolton has been pretty good
Actually getting into a good position before he kicks the footy.

Free kick count at the end of the 1st Quarter

    Swans 8
    Bulldogs 4

Everitt and Fossie are the leading Swans possession takers with 7 a piece. Johnson has 9 and Eagleton 8 for the Bulldogs.

Ablett has been definitely told that when he is tagging he needs to be more damaging on the return. He is showing up down forward more often than previous.

I'll make a bold statement now and say that Goodesy will be the key player in this game.

Bazza and Mick not much influence yet but that is probably a good thing.

Can't be too upset at a 5 goal qtr.

I thought Bevan was very good twice in that quarter with clean hands under pressure.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I agree with that statement - as the commentators said he's definitely on-song today. Well he seems to be, now just needs to keep going for another 3 quarters.

And please broadcasters give us a damn game clock.

And that's why McVeigh Jr shouldn't try to emulate his brother marking.

Leo stop giving your opponents so much damn space.
