    The Lie of the Ladder

Well, with us blowing 2 points tonight, we've just missed an opportunity to play for a guaranteed home final next week. Had we got home, we would have been playing to confirm a finish above the Pies next week.

Now we have to win both games and hope for other results to go our way to even get a home final, and top 4 looks out of the question (unless Roos/Cats and Hawks/Power games end in a draw).

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Sad thing is had we hung on for the win, we'd be second right now!

I think 5th is now the best we can realistically hope for.

We need two of Hawthorn, Port and the Kangaroos to lose 2 out of their remaining 3 games. It won't happen.

    Well done Swans you idiots.

For us to make top 4 now.

For us to make the top 4 now..

    1. Winning both of our games.

We need 2 of the following to happen.

Hawks lose atleast 1 games out of Port and Bulldogs.
Kanga's lose atleast 2 games out of Geelong, Bulldogs and Carlton.
Port lose atleast 2 games out of Hawthorn, Geelong and Freo.
West Coast lose to both Essendon and StKilda.

It's going to be very very tough from here. That draw was just as bad as a loss.

The Hawks losing to one of those two is pausible as is Port losing two of those games.

Though right now my top 4 will most likely be Geelong, Kangaroos, West Coast and Hawthorn.

It would be very nice if Port and Hawthorn could conspire to draw tomorrow. Then hope Port lose to Geelong and then we beat Hawthorn in Round 22 and we should be 4th on percentage!

    Simple.

A draw tomorrow to Hawthorn and Port would be very very good to our chances.

Well if Port happen to beat the hawks tomorrow, we control our destiny in regards to hawthorn losing 2 (as we play them round 22).

and the kangas are losing their way, Geelong will beat them tomorrow.

So it's not over yet.... although it's as close as possibly could be.

I'm so bloody frustrated, we didn't even need to try and spot up a leading player in those last minutes, a long bomb from outside 50 would have been fine, just to increase the margin to 7+, and make Brisbane need 2 scoring shots to win.

We REALLY need the bulldogs to be our friends, they pretty much hold our fate in their hands!! We need em to beat the Dawks and the Kangas need to lose to GeeLong & the Woofas, and, Voila........ that is how I imagined our run to the top 4 - rely on other teams!!!!

Realistically, 5th is the best we can reach on the ladder.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!!

Whatever happens, we still have a very good record playing finals away. Think the 2 qualifying finals in Perth (1 win, 1 should-have-won), the qualifying final win against Port and the prelim against the Saints in 05.

I just looked at the ladder, if we win both games we'll probably finish in 6th spot above Collingwood, seeing as we're half a game behind them right now. We'll probably win our resulting home final in the first week and get outclassed in the semi-final the following week. Bloods was right - it really is like 2004 all over again. Sorry cow
