With Everitt and Jolly out, Currie is most likely to ruck? with perhaps Richards and LRT pinch hitting.

I read in The West Australian that Jesse White will get first crack in the ruck.

Last place I'd expect to read about that! Yep I'd forgotten about White, he'll be in the ruck if he's deemed fit to play.

I'll be very interested to see how he goes. He more than holds his own against the good folks surrounding ONC as an undersized ruckman but I'm not sure how well his ruckwork will translate to playing against bigger bodies that are (or at least close to) as athletic as him. At AFL level I seem him more as a superb key position prospect that can ruck around the ground if needed (which is all we really needed assuming we have Jolly/Spida fit all year).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I couldn't help laughing as I read through the list not playing.

Time to get rid of the stupid practice match cup and extend the season.

You need practice games. Clubs aren't going to send their best 22 out in round one without match fitness and practice. So extending the season will only nbring about practice games earlier in the year and I'm not sure that's such a good thing.

I don't mind the Swans approach. The fact that the pre-season cup is played under rules barely recognisable to the regular season is a major dissincentive to stay alive in it IMO.

But other clubs use it to build a winning atmosphere around their club. I think Geelong's win a few years ago helped them start their journey for 2007 so there are merits either way.

Why I'd rather the Swans get belted in the practice/NAB matches than in the the season proper. At least they can try out the untried players and the players that stack up give em a run during the season but for the rest of them back to the magoos for the season.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

It sure would be nice for our fellas to put in a decwent effort this Sunday. As always in the pre-season, a win is a bonus.

But no matter where I travel to see the boys play, I want to see them win. am making the effort to get down there, so I want us to put in.

Still if we lose, there are no injuries & we help blood a couple of decent young kids,it is still a useful excercise in my eyes.

    Ablett doesn't need practice??????

Glad to see McVeigh is deemed as "needing practice".
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
