Not a good look for the Lions IMO, a very premature selection.
The search for the next NAB Analyser begins.
Mistake by club.
It will all end in tears.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
2nd time Lethal has been replaced by his Premiership Captain, first by Tony Shaw and now Vossy.
I think the initial plan was always to have Voss after next year and this simply forced their hand. I think they will make a major play for a very experienced assistant coach/football manager in the ilk of Neil Balme.
Good luck to him - he hasn't had any senior AFL coaching experience as an assistant coach so he has a lot to learn.
Can't say he has much of a list to work with. His top players (ie Black Bradshaw Charman Johnson Brown etc etc) are not getting any younger. And apart from maybe Notting Leuenberger & Riscitelli none of the younger crop have really replaced the ones who have retired.
Brisbane are on a similar path to us, yet they were supposed to already be rebuilding. Personally I don't think they are in such a great shape, whoever coaches them.
You wonder what prompted Lethal to pull the pin on his gig & the Lions. A lack of fire? A realisation that the team still have several tough years ahead of them. You wonder whether he will stay in Queensland at all?
Interesting times ahead in the Sunshine State, that's for sure.

A rumour on BigFooty () is that Leigh Matthews and Jono Brown aren't the best of mates.
He might have wanted to leave once Brown signed a new contract.
