That was absolutely blooy fantastic. Good on you and goods on kirky. A good old fashioned Albury boy.

Should i mention that his dad played 1's with 1 arm. Possibly where he got his amazing determination from.

Hopefully he can get to 300.

    Go Kirky

A quality read about a quality player

A lot of thought went into this article and I thank you for that. It covered a range of topics about a man I think many still underestimate.

May the standards he sets himself stay with the team and all who support it.

    Well Done.

Brilliant. A beautiful homage to one of the finest Swans/Bloods players of all time. Thank you so much for writing this.

Nice work Snajik - Captain has now entered my lexicon of possible passwords along with other footballing giants - I can give no greater tribute!

    Magnificent work Snajik!

I've been lucky enough to see both Bob Skilton and Paul Kelly play. With their talent and courage, they were both the heart and soul of the South Melbourne/Sydney Swans teams they played in. This was reflected in their appointments as Captain and Vice Captain of the Swans Team of the Century.

Brett Kirk loses nothing when compared to those two champions.

In the future, when people talk of the Swans legendary captains, they won't just speak of Skilton and Kelly.

They'll talk about Skilton, Kelly and Kirk.

Finally got a chance to read the article.

Cheers snajik. It is an excellent account of his career.

It should not be forgotten that he has probably won more games with his inspirational on field speeches than with his on field feats. Almost an exact opposite of Kelly.

Now to find some more pics.

It's good to see you around again snajik! I used to read your columns on RWO pre-vBulletin (before I worked up the courage to post ) and that was a fitting tribute to a champion player. And I'm a Davo fan

Awesome article, so good I wonder how much of it will end up in one of the mainstream papers.
