He's not on the list now.

My point was they can't rely on Murphy to shore up their list of tall defenders, so may have to get another one thru trade or draft if they feel it is necessary.

Hang on, am I missing something?

He was not on the senior list, he was an international rookie so he was never on the senior list in the first place to delist or leave on.

I feel a bit "yeah-nah" about this. Can't miss what you didn't have.
Best wishes to him back in Ireland.

That's life. We won't miss him because he didn't make it.

Not at all. If he doesn't sign the contract, he doesn't stay on the list (rookie or otherwise). If he signs the contract, he stays in Australia. However, if he were to call the Swans and ask to come back and train sometime next year, he'll probably be allowed. Obviously won't be allowed to play, but they would then sign him for 2011 (if he was considered up for it). Presumably he'd be allowed to play as a top-up in the ressies if that were to happen.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Doesn't mean we can't feel we lost his potential though. He was also a tall, an endangered species at the Swans.

If anything, the fact that he was a rookie means this is more of a loss, because we only get to replace him with a rookie, and as far as rookies go he was showing more than average.

It's a shame, I really liked the look of him and did think he could amount to a solid role player for us. Best of luck with his future endeavours.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yes, work out a deal with our netball sisters!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He was on the rookie list.
