I think it's a reflection that ROK had a crap start to the season. He'll get alot of votes in the back half, but Goodes will get more.

With Hall and Micky O out he was asked to do a thankless job...that he probably isn't that suited to. When they returned he moved into the midfield where he'll get votes.

The B&F (for the Swans) is about doing the team thing. The TLM is about influence and turning the tide, stepping up and winning the match off your own boot!
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Supporters usually see things differently to the match committee. The match committee may give votes to a player who does his role but may not get many possessions which means he may not get many TLM votes.

    Rnd 11-12

    Round 11 v Hawthorn, MCG.

    Sydney2.5 4.7 8.7 11.9 75
    Hawthorn4.5 7.5 9.1112.1486

BEST: Goodes, O'Keefe, J. Bolton, Jolly, McVeigh, Mattner, C. Bolton

When Cyril Rioli hobbled off the ground early in the game, things looked a bit brighter for the swans, and then some more of

the Hawks players went off the ground with various injuries it looked like the swans may be able to run over the Hawks, who

had the ascendancy for most of the first half. Franklin who had struggled for form in recent weeks was playing with some

purpose and causing Craig Bolton plenty of headaches. The swans hit back hard in the 3rd term to reduce the margin. And just

when it looked like the swans were about to get on top, a free was paid against Hall in the swans F50 for holding Roughead,

with a "shake of the head" from Hall a 50m Penalty ensued, and then another and then another. The result was an easy goal to

Roughead and the gates were almost shut on the swans comeback.
But is was Franklin who sealed the result, marking strongly in front of Craig Bolton, who went down with a knee injury.

    The Hawks by 11.

Goodes 3 goals and Hall 2.

    Collingwood4.2 7.7 9.9 13.11 89

BEST: O'Keefe, Kirk, Jolly, Richards, Roberts-Thomson

The pies booted the first 3 goals of the game to dampen the spirits of the swans, and their loyal fans. Only for Jacks two

goals, the Pies dominated. Again the pies dominated the play, but the swans managed to kick some late goals to keep the

margin within reach at the long break. The swans played much better in the 3rd term, getting in front at one stage , before

the pies regained the lead and went to the final break with a 3 point lead. Davis and Didak, led the charge in the final

term keeping the swans to only 2 points whilst they kicked 4 goals between them to seal the swans fate.

Jack, O'Keefe and Hall all finished with 2 goals.

It is fair to say that ROK didn't come into his own until the 2nd half of the season. I think the votes so far are a fair reflection of his form. It took him a long time to wind up. Expect him to come home well.

More so to adjust to the midfield perhaps, although he's been running like one for a few years now.

    Round 13 v Adelaide, AMMI.

    Adelaide1.3 3.4 9.712.1385

BEST: Kirk, O?Keefe, Mattner, Goodes, Shaw, Hall

The Pies followed by the Crows, a swans fans delight. Both of which the swans have not beaten for a while.
Halls 250th. Mattner got the party underway with a goal on the run, whilst the crows got the ball into their forward 50

plenty of times, it was with no purpose and the ball came straight out again. The swans won the arm wrestle in the first

qtr, then started to dominate in the 2nd as Adelaide continued to struggle up forward. The swans increasing their lead to 19

points. Kirk kicked the first of the 2nd half, but it was a different Crows outfit after then and they piled on 5 unanswered

goals to lead at the final change by 7 points. Tippet missed and Hall didn't and the margin was just 2 points with minutes

to go, but goals to Edwards and Porplyzia put the result out of reach.

The Crows by 16. The swans 4th loss in a row.

Hall kicked 4 and was reported, as was White and Grundy.

BEST: O?Keefe, Jack, Kirk, Roberts-Thomson, McVeigh, Grundy

With no Hall, the swans struggled for an avenue to goal, but managed to lead by a point at qtr time.
The Roos had more scoring opportunities, but only managed a 5 point lead at half time.
A rare goal to LRT got the swans in front, but not for long. Roos kicked the next two, before Veszpremi set up Shaw, and

then kicked one of his own giving the swans a 7 point lead. The two teams struggled to find a match winner, until O'Loughlin

snapped over his shoulder to seal a hard earned victory.

    The Swans by 15.

Barlow, J Bolton, Goodes, Bird and O?Loughlin all finished with 2 goals.

I thought Jolly would be doing better at this stage...it's all downhill from here for Jols. Looks like a Pebbs and Goodsey race to the line.

Goodbye Barry Hall. A half time goodbye for the big Fella.
2 goals to a hard working O'Loughlin, Mike Pyke with 8 hitouts, but it was the Don's by 4 points.
The momentum was turning the Bombers way and they extended their lead to 3 goals.
An arm wrestle in the third term but the bombers still managed to increase their lead to 31 points.
3 goals a piece in the last, but the bombers were never in trouble of losing this game.

The swans gained the ascendancy and led by 9 points at the main break. The swans managed to wrest the lead back after a goal to White, but the blues fought back. A couple of late goals to the swans kept them in touch to lead by 9. After the final break the swans just had no answer to stop the rampaging Blues, who kicked 9 goals and kept the swans goalless.

The ever courageous Richards went down in a sickening collision which would end his season, with a punctured lung.

White looked inspired with 4 goals, with O'Keefe chipping in for 2. Smith had his best game of the year keeping the dangerous Betts out of the game.
