    The Decade That Was 2000-2009

Each team has been scored against each other based on their results over the 10 years. For example, in this period Collingwood played Carlton 20 times. Collingwood won 11, Carlton 9. Thus this is recorded as a single game which Collingwood won 11-9. As another example, Richmond played Brisbane 13 times for 6 wins 6 losses and a draw. In the table this is recorded as 6-6 and each team registers a drawn match. Each team obviously "played" 15 matches. Points are awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, with a club's total winning percentage over the decade used in the even of tied points for rank.

    15Richmond15311138.1910

    Notes:
*Hawthorn is the lowest ranked team to win a premiership, 2 points behind *West Coast and with St Kilda falling short in 2009.
*Adelaide ranks 4th, despite not winning a flag this decade.
*The only team Carlton beat was Richmond (10-6) and they drew with the Dogs (6-6)
*Brisbane played the most outright games (237). Richmond played the fewest (223).
*Every club played finals this decade.

*The highest percentages against a single opponent over the decade were
    Geelong (159.22%) v West Coast
    Adelaide (146.22%) v Richmond
    Sydney (141.72) v Richmond
    Geelong (141.11%) v Richmond

    *The most lopsided results were
    Adelaide v Richmond (12-1)
    Sydney v Carlton (12-2)
    Geelong v Richmond (12-2)
Port Adelaide v West Coast (13-3)
    St Kilda v Carlton (12-3)

I have a complete breakdown in an Excel spreadsheet, but I fear RWO will not allow me to attach it to this post. I will publish the Sydney Table in Swans Chat, if you want other club's please PM me.

It's the off-season, okay? I'm bored and procrastinating uni work.

It's a lovely sunny day outside.
    Go on. Out you go!!

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I've done something similiar... I have ranked the teams for the last decade in alphabetical order. Unfortunately Sydney don't fair to well in my analysis.

    Adelaide
    Brisbane
    Carlton
    Collingwood
    Essendon
    Fremantle
    Geelong
    Hawthorn
    Melbourne
    North Melbourne
    Port Adelaide
    Richmond
    St Kilda
    Sydney
    West Coast
    Western Bulldogs

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I appreciate - great work little laughing man! A pretty good decade for the Swans. One of their best ever. And one of the worst ever for Carlton.

Thanks... took me hours to compile that data but it was well worth it in the end.
