Manly Warringah Wolves have appointed former AFL player Daryn Cresswell as playing coach for the 2009 season.
The 37 year old former Sydney Swan champion (Bob Skilton Medallist & Team of the Century member) played 244 games over his illustrious career, retiring in 2003. He was also appointed Assistant Coach for AFL clubs Geelong and Brisbane in recent years and as such will no doubt be a standout playing coach in the AFL Sydney Division One competition.

There was a well documented incident that occured at the time he was touted for the St Kilda role, then from as much as I can gather (and this is purely from reading gossip) he essentially did a runner from the Tassie Devils gig.Not knocking the SFL, but what has gone wrong with Cressa?
