The best players on that list are Hird and Voss. The best players across the decade are Scarlett or Black, the latter in particular. He suffers the typical fate of non-Melbourne players by their media and "experts". Interestingly, Kirk rates him as good a midfielder as Buckley at his peak - a fair rap.

Across the span of this decade I agree with many others here - Black has been the most consistently good IMO, although I voted for Goodes of course.

Same with Voss, though he's very stiff. Remember, we're talking 2000 onwards. Buckley, Ricciuto, etc all fall into this category as well.

That in mind, for me it's down to Judd and Black. Judd just gets over the line for me. Black has been more consistent (had the advantage of starting his career before the decade but not too far before, so he hit his strides right at the start of the decade), and he has played more games, etc, but Judd hits the right balance of pure explosive ability and being able to showcase it regularly. Even when affected by injury, he simply turned his game inwards and became a clearance specialist, rather than letting his performances genuinely slip.
If you're going to argue that Hird didn't play enough footy this decade, then you could argue the same thing about Judd. He didn't start til 2002 and became an elite player in '03 and '04.
Both played 8 seasons this decade.
