    Mitchell watch

It's not too soon (or too optimistic) to be keeping an eye on the progress of Tom Mitchell, is it?

Apparently he gathered 41 possessions and laid 8 tackles playing for the Claremont Colts at the weekend.

Does anyone know what kind of style midfielder Tom is? Is he one of those mega classy silky smooth gut running types like Cousins/Murphy?

Ooohhh goody, Mitchell watch. No its not too soon Liz. Its going to be a few years before we can indulge in a Kelly watch (or a Roosy, or Luffy and I hear they are possibilities maybe, but oh boy can't wait for the O'Loughlin, Barry, and Kirky possibilities, no pressure of course) , so lets practice on Tom. Stats welcome.

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Brisbane (Fitzroy) will obviously lay first claim to the next generation of Roos, but not all hope is lost. If Sydney thinks they have a case for it they can appeal for an exemption to the AFL on the grounds that a) Paul Roos played 98 games for us and b) has coached Sydney/South Melbourne in more games then anyone else (200 by season's end). But The Swans would have to fight for it, and there's no telling if it would be successful or not.

Is there any precedent for that or are u just making it up?

I doubt other clubs would be happy and I wouldn't blame them one bit.

Of course it is all irrelevant unless they prove to be gun juniors.

I doubt they may have the hunger, after all, they've graced the winners dias on GF day already.

Roos played 87 games for us. Plugger might be the player you're thinking of on 98 games. A few notable names also just missed out

    Schwass, Schneider 98
    Nick Davis 97
    Jason Ball 90
    Capper 89
    Schauble 88

We could get our hands on Roos' kids through the Academy anyway. Assuming it's anything like the NSW Scholarship scheme, it would trump, or at least be equal to, the Father/Son rule.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

This is correct. The scholarship scheme would also mean using a lower draft pick than may be required under f/s.
