    Swans Trading and Drafting

Looking back at the Swans drafting and recruiting since the 2006 draft is very impressive. Considering we haven't had ridiculously low picks we've managed to rebuild without breaking stride.

The reason I started looking was this one - Ben McGlynn and Josh P. Kennedy - Draft picks #39, #46 and #70, must be one of the greatest trades in history. Without getting ahead of myself, two possible AA players (one more potent than the other) for nothing.

    2006 AFL Draft

    Peter Everitt for Pick #33

    #15 Daniel O'Keefe
    #49 Daniel Currie
    #65 Peter Faulks
    #79 Jesse White

    2007 AFL Draft

    Martin Mattner for Pick #28
    Henry Playfair for Pick #44

    #11 Patrick Veszpremi
#26 Brett Meredith (for Dempster and Schnider)
    #59 Craig Bird

    2008 AFL Draft

Rhyce Shaw and Pick #61 for Pick #46

    #12 Lewis Johnston
    #30 Daniel Hannebery
    #61 Campbell Heath

    2009 AFL Draft

Mark Seaby and pick #55 and #28 for Amon Buchanan and draft picks #22 and #118
    Shane Mumford for pick #28
Ben McGlynn and Josh P. Kennedy for picks #39, #46 and #70

    #6 Gary Rohan
    #14 Lewis Jetta
    #38 Sam Reid
    #54 Byron Sumner
    #55 Trent Dennis-Lane

Plus obviously the Preseason and Rookie Drafts (Bradshaw).

Early days yet, but things look good.

The most amazing thing from the list is during the past 4 years there is only ONE top 10 pick. Hopefully this group can destroy the bottoming out myth.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

    Swans Trading and Drafting

I think we destroyed that myth in 05. After 2002 I think many thought we needed to bottom out and rebulid.

The drafting has been super impressive and the Swans need to be commended for it. How good is Hanners a pick up at pick 30?
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
