Round 1 v St Kilda, ANZ Stadium.

    Sydney 3.3 7.5 9.8 13.1088
    St Kilda5.0 9.0 13.4 15.6 96

BEST: Goodes, McVeigh, O?Keefe, Seaby, Shaw, Malceski

6 Swan debutants, Mumford, Seaby, McGlynn, Kennedy, Bradshaw and Jetta, plus a new old face in Kennelly. Grundy given the big job on Reiwoldt. Inaccuracy cost the swans early, against the accuracy of the Saints. Kennelly looked good, but was a bit rusty with the oval ball. Being crunched by Dawson late in the game was certainly a welcome back tiger.
The Swans had their chances, but failed to capitalise on them.
Goodes finished with 3 goals, and Mattner 2.
New boy Seaby revelling in his role as number 1 Ruck.

An 8 point loss against the previous years Grand Finalist, with a new team trying to gel.

    0-1-0

    TLM Votes

    Round 2 v Adelaide @ AAMI Stadium.

    Sydney 4.3 11.4 14.9 18.10118
    Adelaide2.3 4.5 8.7 11.9 75

BEST: Ryan O'Keefe, Ben McGlynn, Mark Seaby, Heath Grundy, Adam Goodes, Daniel Hannebery

9 years since the Swans have beaten the crows at AAMI.
Rustiness prevailed, early in the 2nd game, for both teams. After leading by 2 points, the swans stamped their authority on the game, by kicking 7.1 to open a handy break.
Young Daniel Hannebery, got his chance to show where he was at in 2010, after showing some fine form in 2009. 23 disposals was an awesome efffort for the 8 game player. A sure sign of things to come. But his efforts were overshadowed by O'Keefe (29 Disposals) and Ben McGlynn with 5 goals, and 23 disposals as well.

    A comfortable 43 point win.

    1-1-0.

    Whoo hooo.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

    Round 3 v Richmond, SCG.

    Sydney 6.4 10.6 13.13 16.15111
    Richmond0.4 1.8 4.10 7.14 56

BEST: J Bolton, Grundy, McGlynn, Mumford, Malceski, Jack, O'Keefe

Bradshaw kicks his 500th goal, finishes with 4.
McGlynn chips in with another 3, and is becoming a R&W favourite with his hard work, and goal sneak ability. 6 goals to none, became 10 goals to 1. Richmonds lack of intensity and scoring accuracy was woeful, where as the swans ran themselves ragged, and looked rather sharp and switched on. Cobwebs have now been dusted off, and the team is ready for bigger and better things. The game slowed in the latter half, but the tigers never looked like worrying this new group of swans.

Round 4 v North Melbourne @ Etihad Stadium.

    Sydney 3.2 6.6 11.11 14.16100
    North Melbourne3.4 6.7 8.11 8.12 60

BEST: Hannebery, Bradshaw, Goodes, Mumford, LRT, Kennelly

First game in Melbourne at Etihad, beautiful sunny day with the roof open. The silence at the bounce of the ball is unfounded at an AFL match. The swans are fast and attacking, as opposed to the roos slow chipping game. The Roos kept the swans in check for half a game. Some calss and speed by Goodes, and then Wells had the crowd alight, but unfortunately for the roos, the scoring would be limited from now on. The goals began to flow and the swans stamped their authority on the game, cruising to another comfortable win.
Jetta is blossoming, Seaby and Mumford are really starting to work together, and McGlynn continues to excite. While Hannebery seems to have a knack of finding the ball.

He probably won't. I hardly voted for him this year.

    Great work Scott.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Thanks Scott, always a great read.
I reckon Hanners has it in the bag.

    Not any longer. Someoone noticed.

Round 5 v West Coast, SCG.

    Sydney 3.3 7.8 11.9 17.13115
    West Coast2.2 4.4 6.7 9.9 63

BEST: Jack, Grundy, Bradshaw, Goodes, McVeigh, Roberts-Thomson

The Anzac weekend clash had Cox bring his young protege Nicnat to town, to match it with his old team mate Seaby and new young gun Mumford. It all ended in a bit of a fizzle as Nicnat barely got his hands near the ball and Cox was struggling to dominate as he so often did. Bradshaw was on fire marking everything in sight and kicking an impressive 6.2. Josh Kennedy is starting to become and important part of the midfield, and no one really noticed the absence of the exciting McGlynn.
West Coast failed to provide a forward line, and the Swans held on to the ball for dear life.

    Swans Comfortably by 52 points.
Captain Craig Bolton accepted the winning teams trophy on one leg, and the best afiedl went to McVeigh

4-1-0 - And top of the Ladder after 5 rounds.

    Round 6 v Brisbane, SCG.

    Sydney 5.1 9.5 16.8 16.11107
    Brisbane2.2 5.3 11.4 13.9 87

BEST: Bradshaw, Bolton, Jack, Shaw, O'Keefe, Goodes

Bradshaw faces up to his old team for the first time, and with another handy 6 goals proved that he was a very handy pick up for the swans, as Fevola and Brown failed to have a huge impact on the game, even though they kicked 7 between them. A highlight of the game was Bradshaws torpedo from outside 50 near, the boundary, after the siren, that sailed effortlessly through for the goal of the game, to quell the lions late attack.
Several injuries to key players soured the win, as the injury list starts to grow.

    Swans by 20.

5-1-0, still top of the ladder!!

    TLM Votes
    5 Daniel Bradshaw
    4 Jude Bolton
    3 Nick Malceski
    2 Shane Mumford
    1 Kieren Jack

(45 Voters, 16 players received votes)

    Leaderboard after 6 rounds

    12 Daniel Bradshaw
    10 Adam Goodes
    10 Ben McGlynn
    8 Jude Bolton
    8 Nick Malceski
    8 Ryan O'Keefe
    7 Dan Hannebery
    6 Kieren Jack
    5 Heath Grundy
    4 Lewis Roberts-Thomson
    4 Jarrad McVeigh
    4 Mark Seaby
    4 Shane Mumford

With McGlynn out injured for the last 2 games, and Goodes having a couple of quiet games, Bradshaw who has kicked 12 goals in the past 2 games rockets to the top of the leaderboard.
