HUH???....Bruce played for Melbourne, not Carlton.

Mebourne are THE Tankers given the hugely embarrasing things they did in 2009 to get the extra picks. So embarrasing, that although the AFL vehemently denied tanking was occuring (I wonder what Vlad was saying about it in private?), it produced the axeing of the pre first round pick for hopeless teams.

Carlton was the Tankers before Melbourne.

The Age today says that GC have first pick in the PSD and may target Anthony. If GC do take Anthony, Collingwood apparently get a compensation pick for use in any of the following five drafts. All very confusing now, not sure what the exact rules are!

Isn't Anthony out of contract? If so, how could Collingwood get a compensation pick?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Reece Conca is one of our first round pick options (although I'm pretty sure Freo who have the pick before us have him firmly in their sights). Sports New First have an interview with him and a few of the other draft hopefuls on their website (Darling, Swallow ect) if any of you were interested, here's the link: http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/video/

Dunno, the rules look amazingly complex. The Age says

Anthony has quit the Magpies and will nominate for the December 7 pre-season draft.
The Suns will have the first pick and, as it stands, could have up to eight of the opening selections under their list concessions.
Suns recruiting guru Scott Clayton last night said the new franchise would more than likely activate one pick but would not speculate on any interest in Anthony.
At age 22 and with the ability to fill a key position, Anthony could be a good fit for a club seeking hardened bodies.
The Magpies would have to agree to allow Anthony to join the Suns, as they have already lost one player to the league's 17th franchise - Josh Fraser.
But, if Anthony was to head north, Clayton said the premiers would benefit as they would receive a compensation pick, something that would not be forthcoming should Anthony link with the Blues, Dockers or Demons.

The only way Anthony could get to us is through the National Draft, even then we might have to pull the trigger in the 2nd round to ensure that we got him. Handy player but not worth it IMO.

Likely to go through PSD in any case where he would likely be picked up by one of Dees, Bombers, Roos, Dockers (and any number of other unknown teams) before our pick.

People overrating picks again. How is he not worth a 2nd rounder?

With the inclusion of GC and GWS picks in the first 2 rounds are now like gold. Collingwood tried to trade him and had no takers - what does that tell you about his market worth?
