Well, I can't argue with that and other comments previous.

Didn't he and a few others take Barassi to a gay night spot for a drink without Ron knowing about it?

Luff is all you need but I have to quote myself (circa 1999) - Luffy the Vampire slayer.

Luffy was (and still is), a legend of the Swans. He was a glimmer of hope in a decade of depression. Never the most gifted footballer, but you know when he went out to play, he played to win and he gave it all for his team and team mates. Arguabley, he IS the beginning of the "Bloods" culture.

I would have to agree with you. I would have thought he was the start of the "bench" culture under Eade.

Or perhaps the 1945 'bloodbath' Grand Final against Carlton.
However they were referred to as the bloods prior to that.
    Bloodstained angels as well.
I'm sure through the years there have been many many references to the 'bloods culture'
Most recent being Kirk, and many more to come.
Personally, I really don't think it represents much other than Kirk playing up to Vic based fans at the MCG that day.
From there it grew a set of small legs and the teams, and players and press all went with it for a while...
