Saw Braddles down at Trumper Park coaching the juniors last night with Sam Reid. My spirited inquiry as to whether he'd be right for round 1 was met with with a muted "sure". Did note he was kicking everything with his left foot however so perhaps doesn't add up to most valuable match intelligence we may have had on this site.

Craig bird is in the squad for this weekends game.

If he has a hot spot or any sign of stress, why play him?

Gutted to hear that news. He is such an integral part of our defence and running back brigade. Makes Everitt's inclusion all more important.

    Terrible, terrible news...

On a positive note, it solves some of our HB selection dilemmas and paves the way for a massive year for Gary Rohan.

Dear oh dear, some guys have the worst luck. Third serious knee injury of his career.

Que the Ranga! Looks like Tadhg and Rhyce are going to have to have big years. Gaz is only 19 still! This seriously sucks hard.

Uncle Byron might get a bit more of a look in as well.

Sad on a few fronts - firstly for him, especially after he has reportedly worked so hard. Secondly for all of us who love watching him.

But also for the reputation of the surgery as well. Many don't want to believe it has a role to play in the game. And I guess the fact that both Malceski and Rodan have now reruptured their LARS, maybe there isn't. But it is still very early days and little data available, and many anti-LARS advocates conveniently ignore the fact that the conventional surgery is hardly 100% guaranteed either. It would be nice to think that there was an alternative to players sitting out for a season, taking another whole season to recover fully, and often facing hamstring issues even once they are over their knee problems.

Terrible news. All the indications were he was going to have a big season.

Agree with Liz re LARS. It will be interesting to see how this plays out but no surgery is meant to be foolproof.

This seriously dents our top 4 hopes and is shattering for Eski as he was in ripping touch. @@@@ it!
