Jesse might get squeezed out here, especially if they play Pyke. Bird might come in to arrest the contested ball discrepancy.
    I'm plumping for
I/C: Craig Bird, Mike Pyke, Gary Rohan, Byron Sumner
Emg: Jesse White, Brett Meredith, Luke Parker

Great to see Pyke in the team. A bit sooner than I expected but he will bypass Seaby as the year goes on IMO.

I can't see how the Swans can risk Bird with the current sub rule unless they are 100% sure he can finish a game.

Why is it that Sydney seems to be the only Club that is having so much problem with rucks and the sub rule? I'd play Pyke at fullback all the time. He's experienced enough now and he has the pace to get out of trouble. We then play 2 interchanging rucks and have the players to cover for it.

My emergency educated guess is/are: Parker, Meredith, Bird

Sumner to play as it's the Marn Grook Cup

Pyke's in. Gotta be in. And won't be the sub after what happened last week.

Agree that if a tall comes in, one probably goes out. Shame for Jess who I thought had some excellent moments last week. Just one of the many "unforeseen consequences" of this new rule that young talls will get less development time.

You're probably right (as usual) Ugg.

The fact that Reid is named at FF is telling isn't it? White's problem is he plays like a small forward. Kicks great opportunist goals but rarely gets them from a mark on the lead.

That's the problem with Jesse, he has some terrific moments but goes missing for long stretches as well.

I'd like to see Meredith ahead of Sumner.
Sumner chased a lot of ball, but did get much of it.
I think Meredith might give us a bit more than Sumner ATM.
