    Round 4 - Geelong

We are playing quite well at the moment. Now for a real test.

The last time we beat Geelong was at Homebush in April 2006, and with the exception of a very narrow loss at the same venue a couple of years ago, we've never looked like beating them since. This will be the first time they've been to the SCG since the famous 2005 semi-final (and apparently that still gives some of them nightmares!).

Supposedly on a downwards trajectory after a long run at the top, plus losing Gary Ablett Jnr. and some off-season coaching turmoil, Geelong are nevertheless 3-0, beating St. Kilda and Fremantle narrowly, and thrashing Port Adelaide.

However, something tells me we've had the better start to the season. I think we are going to win this game.

    Swans by 15.

I think we blow this one open and win by 4 or 5 goals (which for us this year would be blowing one open!).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I don't think they are playing like the magpies!

This is very doable, we have had tough games they have had two very easy ones.

and even Jetta kicking goals, this will be a good Saturday night!!

Given Geelong haven't played the SCG in five-and-a-half years, we have a significant home ground advantage here.
Stoked that the game is live on FTA, especially since I'm house sitting a house that doesn't have Foxtel right now (on Saturday night I drove home, to the other side of the city, just so I could watch the game).

God I hate these threads only because I find it impossible to tip against the Swans. So, I'll go as close as possible. Swans by 1.

You would think so. However, Geelong's overall win-loss ratio at the SCG is 14 wins, 11 losses. You can't take home ground advantage for granted.

The last time we played them on this ground was That game, where we were crap for 2.5 quarters. Seriously, there were people who had given up and were going back to Central who had to listen to the final few minutes on the bus radio. I am not going to feel comfortable until the fat lady sings. I am warming up my tonsils.

There was a time in that record that the Swans couldn't win a game no matter where it was, I remember. They were woeful & the Sydney home record suffered according to how bad we were. Look from about '96 onward to see the win/loss record & let's not even bother with anything before. I know we won a few in the Eddleston times but before & after we were just dreadful & lucky to still be in the comp.
