I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
That did occur to me as I was typing my post.
White did frequently play in defence during one season a few years back and he did pretty well. His combination of speed off the mark and vertical leap made him a very effective spoiler. The task of needing to stick with an opponent would lessen the problem he seems to have with knowing where to go to get the ball (or have it kicked to him). A query over him is possibly whether he has the concentration levels to play in defence. While him switching off at times does cost the team when he plays forward, the cost would be more onvious if he were responsible for a dangerous forward as a defender. And then there is the "issue" that we are reasonably well stacked for tall defenders at the moment (with the two Johns(t)on boys being groomed at the moment. Yet we are lacking a big mobile presence up forward.
Any tips for watching this game?
Bring a foldup chair, or just stand leaning on the fence? Is there a fence? Is there any space on the outer side wing adjacent to the bus lane to view?
Cheers

Some people do bring fold out chairs but the majority do just lean on the fence assuming it's not raining of course. I haven't been to the other side that's where the benches are and they had set up a few marquees for both sides and the scorers. I'm not sure whether they would allow you to stand there
Thx ugg. I guess you can stand to the sides of the benches towards the half forward.

If I recall correctly the benches are skewed more towards the Randwick end because there are a few large trees with branches overhanging nearer the Paddington end
They've asked me to man the scoreboard so come and say hello for anyone here.
Also if anyone has a calculator that would be great.

Thanks for the updates, we're traveling pretty well so far 4 goals up in the first quarter.
Does anyone know if any kids from the academy are playing for the eagles tonight?

I read this on Facebook from our erstwhile correspondent
and this from the Swans themselves at the same timeFIRST QUARTER OVER THE SWANS LOOKING IMPRESSIVE! 2.3.21 SWANS 0.2.2 SUNS! GREAT WORK BY BEVAN, CURRIE & MALCESKI!
I can only assume any confusion is related to thisAt 1/4 time the Swans reserves lead 4.4 28 to Gold Coast Suns reserves 1.3 9, Trent Dennis-Lane, Chris McKaigue, Malceski and Brett Meredith with the goals so far
