Definitely wasn't Roosy and think he would be the last person to overstep that boundary - he mentioned that they even made sure his academy office was separate to the swans offices so he wasn't intruding.

Another top performance from the coaches box tonight
It's pretty obvious that Longmire is a brilliant tactician in the top echelon of afl coaches
Careful, the pro Longmire crowd will come out defending how brave he has been all year, how well we are doing with injuries etc.
Fact is, we would be higher up the ladder if we were coached better. Poor selections, sub choice and coaching cost us tonight and the Melbourne game in Round 1.
I'm beginning to agree with the seeming lack of coaching nous. The sub choices seem all wrong and TDL would surely have been a better choice than some of those made for this game.
Yep, every other team has a speedy midfielder type as the sub and we have either a ruckman or a tall. Maybe the coaching staff didnt see that it was pouring with freakin rain or that the forecast was for more freakin rain.

Amazing that TDL,a goal scorer can't get a game! Still no goal kicking structure that works. Keep this up and we will keep losing. How much pain will it take for changes to be made?
There's a lot more to coaching than just game day tactics and selection....but... both these things are vital.
Horse hasn't impressed me with either.
On selection - The Selection of Everitt over someone like Moore or TDL is mind boggling.
We need some specialist forwards who know how to kick goals, not this constant chop and change patchwork stuff we're being served up, week after week.
Sub selections overall have also been woeful. Inexperienced, sometimes first gamers, and talls...????
Gameday tactics - We started last night with just 2 forwards in the 50, and it worked a treat on a wet night. Then once Craig decided to clog it up, that was the end of that... no counter move of any note.
IMO, at the very least, once it got clogged up we should of moved Goodes to the midfield, he was wasted in the crowd.
The best way to beat Craigs flood was to win centre clearances and get the ball in there quickly..Which is one of Goodes strengths.
We went 2.5 quarters with no goals yet still made no decisive moves. Why not ?
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
Sorry I am in the no confidence camp. I always felt that when Roos left we needed new blood to get another perspective. Horse is OK but we are still playing and recruiting for 2005 style football. A new perspective was needed IMHO at the start of the year and we are currently in a holding pattern with the way we play football. Not to mention the poor way we try to play when it is wet amazes me. Little 1 foot handballs at stoppages will not get it done.
We never know now on the game yesterday against the Crow, when the goal kicking was very lacking. One or two goals would have made the difference, and the TDL who kicked 18? in the reserve, previous week, was not there. TDL absence decision was made despite many of us seeing that he is important at the attack end. He is becomign the Nick Davis to Roos now? There is no hints that TDL is eating too much KFC chicken. I attrribute this to the fault of the coach as he did with Mumford beakdown.
Sadly I am beginning to come around to this viewpoint as well. I desperately want Longmire to succeed, but its like he isn't even trying to form his own playbook. The style of game play we played in 2005 will not win a flag anymore, and really our list is not well setup to try and play it. We have far too many good young players coming through that could help us form the nucleus of an exciting, attacking team to be so desperately trying to clinging on to a very defensive minded approach to footy.
I however think Longmire needs at least 2 seasons before he can be truly judged- but this season will imo only be a pass mark if we can match what happened last year- i.e. a home final and get through to week 2 of the finals. That is still achievable, but some of our performances this year have been truly woeful and a big step backwards imo.
