Bailey gone and a club in crisis

Well who didn't see Bailey gone after Saturday?
I was really interested to read that both McDonald and Miller had sought out the club to discuss concerns with the football department even after they had both been treated like crap.

There is even a faint glimmer of hope that the Dees will play finals. Their run home to finals is so soft they even play an imaginary game against us.

Despite Saturday's effort and the Bailey sacking, the Demons remain an outside chance of playing finals given their relatively soft run home after the Carlton game. They play Sydney, Richmond, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide.
    Shocked Demons axe Bailey

At times the board has to look at themselves for past recruiting etc.

    Big winner is GWS.

The only thing that may have kept Scully at Melbourne (if he hasn't already signed) is a sense of loyalty. When blokes start getting cleaned out of the place left right and centre after a bad loss, it makes one think about the clubs loyalty.

Surely he will go chase the big bucks now. It's a fair chance that GWS will be better positioned to win a flag before Melbourne.

Interesting that no ex-Swans coaches are mentioned as potentials for the jobs that are available.

I agree with you there, I think if Melbourne wanted to stop anyone fleeing to GWS copping that hiding and dumping Bailey will not have helped at all.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Barassi has retired. Roos has declared himself not interested. Eade has been mentioned as a potential candidate at Demonland (though I suspect he will stay at the Dogs if he is given the choice). There aren't a whole lot other credible ex-Swans coaches to select from.

    Let's not encourage them Liz.

I think Garry Lyon was put in a very untenable position by Jim Stynes.
Jim holds a press conference where he basically indicated that even whilst battling cancer, his heart and soul will be going into the club.
Then he says that he will do all he can to get Garry back.
What is Lyon gonna do? He has absolutely no choice but to reluctantly fall into line and take some sort of position in the club.

Personally if I was a Melbourne supporter, I wouldn't want anyone at the club who wasn't desperate to be there, and Garry has tended to keep his distance.

For me, what Stynes did was publicly blackmail Lyon into returning, whether he knew it at the time or not....
