    ANZ Stadium

Quote from an AFL.com article today:

    Home away from home

How much longer the Swans will play there for is worth considering. The AFL's contract with ANZ Stadium is for three matches a year. Note that the contract is between the League and the stadium, not the Swans.
Is this true? Are we a chance to get more SCG games next year, with GWS taking a home game or two there? Would love to have a crack at the Pies on the SCG.

Don't like ANZ very much. My whinge factor is vast, and the playing surface is substandard. Why oh why do we have to go out to an alien stadium when we have a perfectly good, perfectly Home, at the SCG. Stupid stupid afl. Obviously thought that "we will build it - they will come". Fix the loos and the access at SCG and they will come...

Hopefully, ANZ stadium is a terrible deck and not up too afl standard and we might have to play a final there again.

I think we need to hope the Bulldogs somehow get a home final in week 1 so that ANZ is unavaible for the AFL.

But there is a chance that Manly might play their home semi at Homebush, depending on who they'll come up against...

ps Can we please stop playing our home games in 'GWS' (whatever that means) from next year???

The playing surface is awful and the XXXX Gold is disgusting. The ground itself is good though and the access and egress is far better there than the SCG.

This article (or the comments reported in it) are laughable. The AFLPA says the players say it is unacceptable. Adrian and Andy reckon it is just dandy. Which of them actually played on the surface?

Walked out onto the ground for kick to kick and noted how patchy the surface was and still "damp-ish". Even saw the old trick of repairing divots (presumably from the NRL game) with green coloured sand. I still think that playing at Homebush is good for our team in that it stops us from becoming too "SCG dimensional" and it's the next best home ground advantage, where it has to be said, we have a reasonable record. And just for a moment, think of those who live out way: it gives us a break on always having to travel to the SCG.

    I like this:
AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said his feedback was that the ground was acceptable.

"The ground passed all the usual tests and it was fine by our standards," he said. "It is not perfect. There was rugby league there on Friday night and a curtain-raiser but speaking to the ground operations manager , the ground was fine..."
There's an honest, independent response right there.
