The first four premierships have been decided, with four seperate clubs taking silverware in the first Grand Final day of the season.
Penrith in Div 2 showed themselves worthy winners. The Rams quickly established themselves the benchmark in Div 2 this season; and will go up to Div 1, giving a higher footballing option for an aspirational footballer in the outer western suburbs.
It was an upset for Moorebank in Div 4, but they were the best team when it mattered. It was only a few years ago that the Magpies struggled to field one team, now they have three senior teams and an under 18s - they're doing a lot right in Moorebank.
It was the first time we've had a Div 5, but the new comp saw Southern Power emerge as a powerhouse, completing an undefeated season.
And for Campbelltown in the Under 18s Challenge comp, some very welcome silverware. It's been a big turnaround for Campbelltown's juniors, going from a winless season with plenty of forfeits last year to an undefeated 2011. With this crop of juniors, the future at Campbelltown looks the brightest it's looked for a long time.
Congratulations to the four premiership clubs. Enjoy your premiership parties - you deserve to celebrate a great year.
