NAB Cup Round 1: Swans v Saints v Cats

34 man squad named. It might be easier to list who misses out than who gets in

Morton, Lockyer, Cunningham and Walsh to make their Swans debuts.

Biggs also to make his debut.

Sssshhhh. I'm trying to keep Biggs under wraps

    Armstrong injured according to Horse

Sydney coach John Longmire said another recruit, ex-Adelaide defender Tony Armstrong (knee) and utility Matt Spangher (hamstring), are both unlikely to be fit by the opening AFL round.

No, don't you do this to me again. Not after Parker.

Is it just me or has Lockyer been getting a bit of a vibe of late? Will be good to see how he goes in the NAB Cup - could be another first-year smoky a-la AJ?

Nah not you Jono. Lockyer had one of those intraclub games which consisted of us sideline coaches saying Who is that Man! Kind of like Kirky's first hitout down at Manuka in '99. Not that I am saying.....I am just saying......

    Knows where the ball is.

Great call - I remember it well. I emailed a fellow Swans fan who hadn't caught the game and saying "I don't normally get excited about pre-season games but there was this one guy who .....". You know the rest.

Knee tendonitis. Won't play in NAB Cup. Longmire says he should be able to play this year but is not a lock.

    DTers and Supercoaches take note.

Interesting in that article that it mentions Jetta 'the forward' moving up onto a wing? I would have thought that the wing was where he mostly played? I would be inclined to play him more as a forward as he seems to get lost in all that space. He can kick a goal ( one 50m set shot sticks out in my mind, was it agaisnt Essendon ?) despite his wayward first year, and im really hoping with his potential he finds a permanent role with us. Particularly as he was a 1st round pick.

I think he's in that batch of players who play midfield and forward, like ROK, Goodes, Jude, McGlynn, Bird.

With his build, Jetta is better off in space than in the clinches. But barring injuries I think he'll be a borderline player this year.
