Swans TV injury update video says Gary a chance to play this week. Mentions Kruger and Mitchell back running and training, Alex Brown running and training is not far off. "O'Keefe should be back training next week." Spanger will be the longest recovery apparently.

*says Rohan is a good chance of training on thursday, whether or not that means he will play I suppose depends on how he pulls up if he does train.

All "sprains" involve some tearing of the ligaments, even an innocuous rolled ankle.
Loose translation from the Latin is - I am tall, so I hit out.

    Even a strain??

I seriously rolled my ankle once messing round on a bike, was convinced I had torn ligaments because it hurt so much! Went to the hospital to get scans, doc said I was fine, no tearing at all just a lot of swelling.

Pretty sure there is usually damage to ligaments when an ankle is rolled - the ligaments are stretched out of place by the movement which is why it swells etc. (have had a few ankle problems but not a doctor or anything so may be wrong)

The more serious sprains/strains normally involve some bone chipping off as the ligaments pull (It hurts, trust me!) - Don't think this is what happened to Rohan as he wouldn't haven't been able to bear weight on it at all ...

I think that might have been what is generally referred to as a little white lie :-)

Ok learning time everyone (including myself)

A sprain is an injury to a ligament, the tough, fibrous tissue that connects bones to other bone. Ligament injuries involve a stretching or a tearing of this tissue.

A strain is an injury to either a muscle or a tendon, the tissue that connects muscles to bones. Depending on the severity of the injury, a strain may be a simple overstretch of the muscle or tendon, or it can result in a partial or complete tear.

Parker, who had to have his broken jaw wired during his junior career, will have scans today.

Tough midfielder Luke Parker will miss 2-3 weeks with a fractured jaw following his collision with James McDonald. Mike Pyke has damaged his posterior cruciate ligament, with medicos hopeful he may only miss a week of action. Full details at bit.ly
