With Goodes confirmed out, I wish we can bring White, Walsh and TDL in with RLT and Everitt the other two outs. Morover, McGlynn moved to reserve. But I think most likely Horse will only bring in White for Goodes! Just don't know when TDL will be given the chance

well, Goodes absence opens up a myriad of possibilities. Everitt goes back to the two's for a run, LRT stays, but in the backline, releasing Shaw to tag Cotchin, and Smith to play a roving midfield/forward role or tag Deledio. Apparently he played forward a fair bit as a youngster (yeah, he's real old now lol). White comes in, at FF and the ruck duties get shared 3 ways, lightening the load, and Harry comes to the sub role for a bit of legs at the end, please point out where this doesn't make sense, I'm sure someone will hehe. On paper it looks like a defensive side, but the run from Shaw thru the middle should help

This is more by way of a thought experiment but . . .

I wonder what would happen if we brought in both White and Walsh? Jessica's ruckwork is much better than White's atm, so perhaps play Walsh in the square to provide crash the packs that form to meet the long balls our mids seem intent on kicking. Then let White play further up the ground to take some attention away from Sam (Our best form last year involved 3 tall forwards.) when he's not pinch hitting in the ruck.
And finally if we have no injuries sub White of Walsh off to inject some more pace towards then latter stages of the game. Didn't Seaby ruck the whole last quarter against Hawthorn, if we restrain his minutes earlier in the game, I think he could do that again.

Whether it's co-incidence or not LRT has been pretty poor in the ruck since his cheek got smashed, and I don't think he is taken seriously enough by the opposition to take any heat off Sam.
Loose translation from the Latin is - I am tall, so I hit out.

I'd send Bird to Cotchin, Shaw to Delidio and Smith to Nahas....

TDL and White for Goodes and Itsy (perhaps a second ruck Pike for a game later in the 6 weeks without Goodsy)

    TDL in for Goodes.
White in for LRT as I think he's still a bit sore. White with instructions to crash into everything.
The other change I'd like would be Nipper for McGlynn who I don't think has recovered fully from that ankle injury agst Port.
I think Reid, TDL, White, Nipper, ROK, Everitt is not too shabby.
But when does Horse ever listen to me?

    Pyke in for LRT.
    Walsh in for Goodes.
and I know it won't happen but TDL in for McGlynn

If we're going to pick White stick him on the wing where he might just be useful.

Not sure that Shaw will come up. He had his calf strapped in the 2nd half and appeared restricted and he had a calf injury preseason that kept him out for a while. I reckon Armstrong is a bird to come in. White would have to be a certainty to come in and you would reckon Walsh will get his chance to give height up forward. McGlynn will stay in.

White to the wing! Talk about lateral thinking.
