You can't tell from the footage but I suspect the "investigation" was pretty conclusive, and it certainly wasn't the only elbow Benny threw all night. I love him but he does seem to like to get amongst it...

    umm, 2011 Captains!

Watched a replay of the game today, I have no idea what they are referring to!

Primmy check the footage in Scott's link

It's hard to tell about the severity of the impact from the footage alone so they must have referred to the Bulldogs medical report. McKernan was cited for a similar hit on AJ a few weeks ago but that was during play. I'm not sure why Benny did what he did but I can't see them appealing this one and he'll miss one week.

Me too. The only thing that looks bad is the fact the Vespa goes down and stays on his haunches as if winded.

Out of breath perhaps, we've seen that quite often at the SCG from Vez.

With that footage, or lack of, they could easily appeal that one IMO.

Nothing to lose by appealing. It's still a week either way.

Footy Classified mob saying that after investigation, Benny Mac was offered the week. Looks like it's Benny's word against Vespa's. Regardless of Pat's Swans history, surely you can't take one guy's word over another?

Should Vespa have played it down? Recall Campbell Brown (from memory) looking after Juddy in a similar way, before admitting he'd lied to get a fellow player off. Ripe for "unhappy at not getting picked" conspiracy theories, accurate or not.
