Sad news. Merv Neagle killed in a truck crash.

It has just been posted on the AFL website that Merv Neagle has been killed in a truck crash. I remember hime as a great Swans and Bombers wingman. My condolences to his family.

    Yeah, very sad.

I remember fondly, watching him ply his trade on the wing for the Swans ,during the late eighties...

A combination of hardness and class, he was a beauty.

    Condolences to his family.

Very Sad news - was the first Swans player that i ever met and he was a great player - was great for Bush footy as he coached and traveled everywhere - a loss to the game

    R.I.P Merv.

Very young and it seems he has quite a few youngish kids too, so it is a greater tragedy than it appears.

He was a fantastic player - unfortunately injured a lot at the Swans - but he had it all: Pace, Balance, Good Kick, Aggression in spades and Class.

We should wear black armbands on Saturday for him. Great servant of the club.

Just a bit before my time but I have heard a lot about him and was one of the old man's favourties. Very sad.

Will go home tonight and watch the Round 17, 1987 game between Sydney and Essendon at the SCG
Merv playing for Sydney against his old team.

We kicked 36.20.236 and Merv kicked 3

He was an absolute pleasure to watch...so hard at the ball...very skilled

Glad he spent part of his footy career as a Blood
Red and white till I die

Just read that they will be wearing armbands for him.
He played 56 games for us across 5 seasons.
